    How it fits

    Particles

    • は wa Marks the topic: what the sentence is about. Written は, said wa.

    • も mo Means “too”. It takes the place of は.

      は (said wa) marks what you are talking about, and です at the end makes a polite statement. Swap in any two nouns: わたしは がくせいです.

      Add か to the end and the sentence becomes a question. The word order stays the same. Answer はい、... です or いいえ、... じゃ ありません.
